International Break LFC News Round Up

It's frustrating to storm through White Hart Lane with a momentous 3-0 win only to hit the international break brick wall right after. At least it's happiness that we want to continue, desperate for another fix, but nonetheless it's sad to go two weeks between football matches. Here's some news to keep you going in this difficult time.

Reports suggest that Victor Valdes will complete a move to Anfield at some point soon, but Liverpool must first receive permission from the Premier League to add him to the squad. In Valdes, Liverpool would have a highly thought of goalkeeper to back up Simon Mignolet, which eliminates the possibility of starting Brad Jones in a Champions League match if Mignolet gets hurt. While I love Jones, Valdes gives me much more confidence in an important game.

Mario Balotelli is being scrutinized by the media, but so far nothing too crazy has happened upon his return to England. Liverpool fans do have a new chant for him that he seems to appreciate.

Liverpool tried to sell Fabio Borini to Sunderland and then QPR, but both times he refused to move away from Anfield. Now the club has included Borini in its Premier League squad, although that means little in regards to how much he'll actually play this year.

Jon Flanagan might be ready for the Villa match. However, Alberto Moreno and Javier Manquillo have played well enough to keep Flanno out of the side for the time being.
