There are rarely players as talented or as polarizing as El Pistolero, the man who delighted Liverpool fans on so many occasions in his time at Anfield. Here are just a few of his most memorable moments with the club.
10. Suarez Rounds Krul For Equalizer
Suarez's late equalizer against Newcastle in November of 2012 has to go down as one of his most underrated goals. His world class ability was on full display as he only needed three deft touches to steer a sixty yard long ball from Jose Enrique around Tim Krul and into the net.
9. The Free Kick(s)
In his time with Liverpool, Suarez built a reputation as a free kick magician. His two best efforts were probably his league goal against City to take a 2-1 lead (which was later thrown away) and his dramatic Europa League strike against Zenit.
8. FA Cup Semi-Final Equalizer v. Everton
Deep into Liverpool's quest to achieve a cup double under King Kenny, the Reds trailed Everton 1-0 in the FA Cup semis. Pouncing on a back pass from Sylvain Distin, Suarez brought Liverpool level with a cool finish past Tim Howard to set the stage for Andy Carroll's late winner.
7. The Debut
It didn't take long for supporters to realize that Suarez was a special player. Just seconds after being introduced as a second half substitute, he scored to secure three points for Liverpool in his much anticipated debut. The goal uplifted the fan base as it came only a few days after Torres had left for Chelsea.
6. The Nutmeg(s)
Suarez specialized in making the opposition look silly, routinely nutmegging players in and around the box with startling nonchalance. His greatest dribbling moment with Liverpool was inarguably his trashing of Manchester United in a 3-1 victory back in 2011, as he set up Dirk Kuyt after leaving four United players flailing.
5. The Carling Cup Curler
Suarez's effort in the 2011/12 Carling Cup against Stoke combined his dribbling and finishing abilities to stunning effect. He followed up this equalizer with a late winner to send Liverpool through to the next round.
4. HandshakeGate
Suarez, for all of his brilliance, will be remembered as a troublemaker for Liverpool. After Patrice Evra accused Suarez of racially abusing him in their previous encounter, Suarez refused to shake Evra's hand, creating a largely unnecessary firestorm.
3. The Bite (Disc 2 of 3)
There's nothing to say here that hasn't been repeated before. Just watch and shake your head.
2. Trolling David Moyes
After David Moyes (then manager of Everton) spent the buildup to the Merseyside Derby whining about Suarez's diving, Suarez celebrated his goal against Everton by flopping at Moyes' feet. It was an incredible act of trollery.
1. Norwich City
A remembrance of Luis Suarez at Liverpool is incomplete without the mention of Norwich City. The poor Canaries brought out the very best in Suarez, and both the quantity and quality of his goals against them will be talked about for a long time.
These clips are a great reminder of the nonstop entertainment that Suarez provided, and it's telling that there's so many special plays that were omitted from this unscientific list. What will you remember most about Liverpool's departed star?
