BBC reports that Daniel Sturridge has returned to full training, and there is a chance that he will be able to return to the Liverpool team for the Crystal Palace match. He's was close to coming back before Liverpool's October 19th match against QPR, but two days before that encounter he hurt himself again in training and has been out since.
Liverpool need Sturridge to come back at full strength because the current group of forwards is simply not getting the job done. It's scary that the team is relying so heavily on a man who has shown an inability to stay healthy so far in his career. It's also surprising that without his presence, Liverpool have fallen back on the times when two goals were an accomplishment rather than the norm.
Sturridge, when healthy, brings much needed pace to the Liverpool team. As it stands, the Reds have no one to stretch defenses vertically with incisive forward runs, which has led to some impotent attacking performances and a string of poor results. Sturridge can add that movement and can also finish off his chances with ease -- let's not forget that the man has already scored 36 goals for the club.
There's no need to rush Sturridge back for the game against Palace -- if he's good to go then by all means play him, but if he isn't 100% it might be wise to give him an extra week off. What Liverpool can't afford at the tipping point of the season is for their star forward to go down again.
