Xabi Alonso-Real Madrid
Ever since the summer, our Xabier has been linked with a move back to Merseyside. He's said 2 things. That he has unfinished business, akin to Craig Bellamy, and, in response to claims he'd move back in the summer, that it wasn't going to happen.
A return does, however, make sense, when you think about it. Xabi's loved here, he might not get back in the team once he's back from injury... He understands what's needed, and Rafa's gone, plus, rumor is, he's wanted on a free transfer. So, nothing to lose, right?
Javier Pastore-PSG
This particular rumor started last year. Javier Pastore is a 24 year old Argentinian midfielder. He's played 77 times for PSG, scoring 16 goals.
According to Brendan himself, we're in need of a midfield man who can complete our core. He would most likely replace or give competition to Lucas, as the Brazilian gives away possession more often than enough.
Pastore's done well everywhere he's been, which includes his formative years in Argentina, and Italy with Palermo.
Martin Hintertregger-Red Bull Salzburg
Hintertregger is another young player, and a defender. He's apparently also sought after by the likes of Juve, Chelsea, and Man U. At 21, he looks to be one of the most sought after young players in Europe.
He's known for his strength and pace, and can also play as a defensive midfield player and a left back when needed.
He has yet to represent Austria, but has represented them at the U19 and U21 levels.
