Liverpool Player Ratings v Norwich

"No I can't dance..."
"No I can't dance..."
Mark Thompson

The blowouts are always the hardest ratings to write. Great performance by everyone. Liverpool are definitely in good form and Sturridge appears to be the missing link. Let's hope they can keep it up.

STARTERS:

Jones - 7 - Wasn't tested often, but was there when he was needed. Was alert on a number of occasions as well.

Wisdom - 7 - Got forward when he could, but defended well again. It is amazing to think he is only 19.

Carragher - 7 - Organized the back which limited Norwich to 4 total shots with only one being on target. I don't think Holt had more than a handful of touches all game.

Agger - 7 - Solid as ever, seemed to be playing LB most of the game allowing Johnson to push forward.

Johnson - 7 - I'll give him a seven because he was influential in pushing forward, but it really seems like he has lost his touch as of late.

Lucas - 6 - Not much to do, but did well to keep control of the area in front of the back line and allow Gerrard to be Gerrard. Technically, he gets the assist on Suarez's goal as well, but let's be honest, that should be Sturridge's assist.

Gerrard - 8 - A fantastic game, Gerrard pulled all the strings looking like the Gerrard of 6 years ago. Scored a cracking goal and really controlled the midfield.

Downing - 7 - Put in a number of good crosses including the one that Sturridge scored on.

Henderson - 8 - What a first goal, absolutely unstoppable. This was one of his best games so far, although we have to temper that with the fact that it was against Norwich. Did well to set up Sturridge's goal.

Sturridge - 8 - That's what we needed, someone who can get onto the scraps and be in the right place at the right time. It was well worked from Downing and Henderson as well. In addition, he had the brilliant dummy to send Suarez in on goal. It seems the first two games weren't a fluke. So, can we please make a song for Sturridge to the tune of "I Can't Dance" by Genesis? I'm sure it will also make Stevie happy to hear some Phil Collins at Anfield.

Suarez - 8 - Another masterclass display against Norwich. Apparently he really likes playing against the Canaries. He was constantly menacing and wouldn't allow the Norwich defense an inch of breathing room all game. Fantastic game.

SUBS:

Sterling - 7 - Pretty much did all the work to make the OG. Good showing off the bench and good to see him getting a bit of breather.

Borini - 6 - Not a bad showing for the short time he was on the pitch. Had a few good touches and moves.

Allen - N/A - Short cameo.
