Liverpool v Norwich Player Ratings

Take a bow.
Take a bow.

Where has this clinicality been all season? I'll take it, although it wouldn't be a Liverpool game without the woodwork being rung. Overall the midfield was poor. Suarez created nearly everything on his own. Gerrard sitting further forward played a huge role in that and it was nice to see him in that same position that worked so well when partnered with Torres.

I'll take it everyday of the week. It is a good confidence booster in the run up to the FA Cup final. On to the ratings:

STARTERS

Reina - 7 - Not much to do, but very solid when called upon. Did he borrow a pair of Suarez's boots? Was excellent with his feet today, although it was making me nervous.

Johnson - 6 - Nothing good, nothing bad. Didn't get forward like usual, but defended well enough. Really wasn't tested by the Norwich wide men.

Agger - 6 - Quiet by his standards and had a few nervy moments. Overall though, you can't argue with the shutout.

Carragher - 6 - He was up and down. Overall, he was far more active back there than Agger, but had some shaky moments and set piece defending.

Enrique - 6 - See Johnson.

Bellamy - 6 - Pressed hard, but really didn't have a ton of impact on the game.

Henderson - 5 - Anonymous. I'll leave it at that.

Shelvey - 6 - I think this might be a bit generous. He just seems to always be playing with his head down. I really don't see the potential here. He just lacks the vision and touch. Missed a sitter and hit the crossbar too.

Gerrard - 8 -Made up for the lack of invention in the rest of midfield. Heads up play to put Suarez through on the first. It was exactly what we have come to expect from him.

Downing - 6 - Had a few decent efforts. Very quiet first half. Again played on the right, so it shouldn't be surprising at this point.

Suarez -10 - And he could have had more. Where has this level of finishing been all season? I sure hope he isn't just starting to get hot. It is too late for that. Either way though, he capitalized on nearly every Norwich mistake with some sublime finishing. Is there a stat for nutmegs? I think he would be leading the EPL in that stat and he makes it look so effortless. Great game from him. Ironic that both he and Torres got a hat trick.

SUBS:

Kuyt - N/A - No time.

Coates - N/A - I don't think he even got a touch.
