Damn Carra!
Damn Carra!

Good morning AA! Massive match this weekend vs Newcastle. As always prepare yourself for Sam's preview, they are truly one of a kind! Also, expect Adam(Bro) to have a spot on player rating story posted early next week.

As always please follow @anfieldasylum on twitter. If your not on twitter, join. It is worth it just to see Sam's in match thoughts!

UPDATED: LFC to play THS in Baltimore as a part of the US Tour!

On to the news

Pepe Reina comparison to other Rival GK's via EPLindex.com

This anaylsis is fantastic and paints a very different picture for the Pepe doubters. The statistics draw a few damning conclusions:

The introduction of Jamie Carragher seems to be one of the reasons of this increase in clear cut chances conceded. Whilst not definitive via the stats it’s clear to the eye that the team is not as comfortable with Carragher in there. Enrique’s stats have slipped a little whilst playing along-side Skrtel whilst Skrtel is attempting half the tackles that he would normally attempt whilst playing in his preferred position of right-sided centre back. I think we’ve all seen that Martin is a better player when he plays as a right-sided CB.

Agger’s attempted tackles/duels are higher than those of an ageing Carra and for us it’s clear that we’re weaker at the back with Carragher in there. Carragher will always be a legend and we respect our legends however it may be time to start Coates next to Skrtel in defence whilst Agger recovers from injury.

Lucas tweet session via liverpoolfc.tv

Lucas participated in a tweeting Q&A session yesterday. I wish he did not have time to do this cause he was on the pitch. Oh well. Love his answer below on his choice of POY for LFC:

Suarez has been brilliant but Skrtel has been so consistent so he is my choice. Skrtel TERMINATOR

AC: I will not celebrate if I score this weekend via dailymail.co.ukUh, Andy let's not get ahead of ourselves......

Liverpool kickoff against Everton in FA Cup 4/14/12 at 12:30GMT via dailymail.co.uk

Chelsea is getting royally screwed. The have to play Sunday evening and then could face Barca 72 hours later. Good luck with that

20 Worst PL Kits via fourfourtwo.com

LFC made the list for their 1993-1995 three striped kits. We were discussing this on The Busby Babe (Manure sister site) and I am shocked their Green and Gold motif did not make the list. But their Rugby inspired V crest 2009-2010 did.

Not LFC related but good story none the less.

Gaston Ramirez Agent: "Negotiations ongoing with major English side"via tribalfootball.com

God I hope that major English side is LFC. The Bologna winger would slot right into the starting position in my opinion. Would link up well with Luis and could provide an instant threat on the wing. He can play left wing, right wing, and attacking mid. There is also interest from Manure, Juve, and Napoli. Doesn't hurt he is a Uruguayan. I am hoping that Luis will sway him towards LFC.

Damien tracking Cristian Tello via tribalfootball.com

First off let me state this: Tello will not come to Merseyside. He has a prominent future at Barca, why would you leave? Unless Pep leaves for Chelsea, where I have read rumors of a £40M salary (after taxes) waiting for him. Pep and Barca have a great chance to go down as one of the elite football clubs in the world and of all time. This will not happen. Tello has already seen minutes in UCL action. Not gonna happen!

NUFC training pics of the LFC lads via liverpoolfc.tv

Lots of snaps of Raheem. I think he will be involved in this match. In what capacity, who knows. I belive that I also see Wisdom too. Great to see the kids training with the senior players!
