ATL: Point Dropping Edition

I bet you wish you'd stayed.
I bet you wish you'd stayed.

Before I start, I'd like to mention that "ATL" stands for "Around The League", and I'll use this abbreviation in many column headlines. Now that that's out of the way, let's begin.

Everton vs Chelsea: Surprisingly, Everton were able to pick up all three points at home in a 2-0 win. Steven Pienaar has been on fire since joining Everton in the January transfer window, and he struck nicely inside the first ten minutes. Incredibly, Liverpool lost no ground today in the chase for a Champions League spot. I don't feel that Chelsea will finish ahead of us as they can't defend, can't beat bad teams, and have karma against them after a racism incident. Then again, two of those three things apply to us too.

Tottenham vs Newcastle: Can you ever call a 5-0 defeat dropping points? Probably not, but it still helps Liverpool in the chase for fourth. Newcastle accidentally blinked and when they opened their eyes they were down 2-0 in the fifth minute. Emmanuel Adebayor had a goal and four assists. Yes you read that right. Those four assists marked the most in a game in the current EPL campaign. Besides a 3-0 win against those devils in Manchester, Newcastle have really struggled against the big boys.

Arsenal vs Sunderland: A true heartbreaker as Sunderland blew a late lead to lose 2-1 to the Gunners. Thierry Henry added to his collection of special moments with the winner in what will probably be his last ever game for Arsenal. His loan spell ended after the game.

Norwich: If the Chelsea news upped your spirits, let me bring them down again. Norwich City are four points behind us. Enough said.
