More preventable errors. More points dropped.
Reina - 5 - He pulled off a decent stop early into the game. Had that gone in, it might have been an ugly day. However, the gaffe he made for City's second was ridiculous. While I think that shot was 99% luck, 1% skill, it was a ball that even Brad Jones wouldn't have come out for. You can even see Skrtel telling him to stay as he does it.
Enrique - 6 - Hot or cold, he played some unbelievable balls, but also wasted a large number of crosses. Still, it is good to have him back.
Agger - 5 - Huge mistake for the first goal, he was too busy asking for offside to bother marking Dzeko. However, it was Agger who was playing the entire Etihad on. Solid otherwise, but that mistake was huge.
Carragher - 7 - Another excellent performance, he kept the defense well organized again, limiting City to only a handful of chances.
Johnson - 7 - Played a key role in the first goal with a great run forward and excellent ball to find Sturridge. Did well to provide decent width all game long down the right.
Lucas - 7 - He had a fantastic first half in which he completely dominated the midfield. He was a little quieter in the second, but overall a good game where he also started a couple of counter attacks as well.
Gerrard - 8 - All action display, he was everywhere all game long. He then capped it off with an unbelievable goal from distance that gave Hart no chance. Also credited with the assist on Sturridge's goal.
Henderson - 7 - Another good showing in front of Gerrard, he appears to be coming into his own. He was very influential in setting up attacks and also put in a fair amount of defensive work.
Downing - 7 - Much better in the second half, he gave Liverpool a lot of width allowing the midfield much more freedom.
Suarez - 7 - Gave City's defense a torrid time all game. He wasn't dropping quite as deep this game as the last game he played in a similar role with Sturridge and it worked out much better. Wasted a lot of opportunities though.
Sturridge - 8 - Blasted the ball into the net with a fantastic shot. A little unlucky to be booked for diving as there was contact at a minimum on his shin and then possibly with his trailing foot. Hopefully his injury isn't too bad, because this partnership is flourishing.
Skrtel - 6 - Solid enough, I can't fault him for City's second as Reina didn't even give him a chance to go out and defend it. In fact, Skrtel was giving him the WTF are you doing body language as Reina charged out. Got an important block in later on too.
Allen - N/A - Little time.
